Player of the Week: Noah Wildt, Chelmsford Swimming

Noah Wildt

Chelmsford sophomore Noah Wildt has been selected as the Valley Sports Daily Player of the Week for Jan. 26 through Feb. 1. Wildt is the sixth student-athlete chosen as Player of the Week for the winter season.

Wildt was one of the many Chelmsford swimmers who dazzled at the MVC Championships last Friday as the Lions roared to the title with a staggering 509 points. The talented sophomore was one of four individual winners for Chelmsford, touching first in the 500 free in a personal best 4:56.53. Wildt also placed second in three other events, including the 400 free relay, the 200 medley relay and the 200 IM.

“Noah is a fantastic swimmer who has really come into his own this year,” said Chelmsford head coach Craig Vitale. “He has qualified for the D1 state meet in every swimming event this year. At MVC’s he had a really incredible preference with a win in the 500 free (his personal best time) and a 2nd place in the 200 IM (season best time). He’s been a key reason to our success this year and he’s really shaping up to have an incredible postseason over the next two weekends.”

Chelmsford posted a perfect 6-0 record in the MVC this winter and was 9-2 overall. The Lions are poised to make a splash in the upcoming postseason meets in a Division 1 field that is especially more wide open than usual.
