Tewksbury junior CJ Zwirek has been selected as the Valley Sports Daily Girls Player of the Week for Nov. 3 through Nov. 9. Zwirek is the seventh student-athlete chosen as Girls Player of the Week for the 2025-26 school year, which is presented on a weekly basis.
Zwirek has been a key cog in Tewksbury’s exciting run in the Division 3 state tournament that has included upset wins over No. 8 Belchertown and No. 24 Martha’s Vineyard. Zwirek has been a big contributor in all three postseason wins so far for the No. 25 Redmen. After she posted two goals in the team’s 2-0 win over No. 40 Chicopee in the preliminary round, she added another pair of goals in a 5-2 win over Belchertown. She then earned a helper in a 2-0 win over Martha’s Vineyard.
“CJ has been an invaluable asset to us both in the attack and in transition when we are trying to press the ball high,” said Redmen head coach Brooke Pacheco. “I know if CJ has the ball on her foot it is going to amount to a play in the box and a potential scoring opportunity for us. And if she can get herself behind a back, whether on the run or on the dribble I know it’s going to be a goal every time.”
Zwirek leads the Redmen in goals (15) and has added seven assists. She has amassed 47 career goals. Look for Zwirek to factor into Tewksbury’s third upset bid on the road at No. 1 Medfield on Thursday.
The Player of the Week is selected by the Valley Sports Daily staff. Nominations can be submitted throughout the week up until Saturday night at 8:00 PM. There may be a poll posted on Sunday with the nominations. The results of the poll influence the selection but do not strictly dictate the decision.
