Lowell senior Seth Ly has been selected as the Valley Sports Daily Boys Player of the Week for Oct. 13 through Oct. 19. Ly is the fourth student-athlete chosen as Boys Player of the Week for the 2025-26 school year, which is presented on a weekly basis.
Ly has been a key cog in Lowell’s 5-1 start on the gridiron this fall and most recently orchestrated a game-winning drive to edge Billerica, 22-20, in a MVC thriller on Friday night. Ly (11-for-17, 138 passing yards, two touchdowns) hit Anthony Perez for an 11-yard touchdown with 30 seconds left to propel the Red Raiders to an impressive victory.
“Seth has worked hard since beginning of summer,” said Lowell head coach Scott Boyle. “He hadn’t really played QB since his freshman season or maybe 8th grade. He has really good chemistry with our skill kids and has given our offense versatility. He is a physical runner that has allowed us to run design running plays for him as well. He has a good temperament and doesn’t get too high or low during games and is working to improve every week.”
Lowell’s high-octane offense has been one of the fiercest in the MVC with Ly under center. Lowell’s 199 points leads all of MVC 2 and trails only Andover (233) in MVC 1.
The Player of the Week is selected by the Valley Sports Daily staff. Nominations can be submitted throughout the week up until Saturday night at 8:00 PM. There may be a poll posted on Sunday with the nominations. The results of the poll influence the selection but do not strictly dictate the decision.
