Boys Player of the Week: Gryffin Bordeau, Billerica Football

Billerica senior Gryffin Bordeau has been selected as the Valley Sports Daily Boys Player of the Week for Sept. 22 through Sept. 28. Bordeau is the third student-athlete chosen as Player of the Week for the 2025-26 school year, which is presented on a weekly basis. Moving forward, there will be both a boys and girls Player of the Week winner.

Bordeau has been a buzzsaw for the Indians (2-1), exploding for 216 rushing yards and three touchdowns to lead Billerica to a big 35-8 win over Lawrence on Friday. After a knee injury sidelined him for most of the summer and pre-season, Bordeau worked tirelessly to return to action for Billerica.

“Gryffin practices as hard as he plays,” said Billerica head coach Shawn Theriault. “He never wants to come off the field, and always wants to know more. He returns kicks and punts, plays free safety, running back, and slot receiver…Gryffin is the perfect captain. Leads by example and by his voice when necessary. His runs are rarely untouched. He breaks tackles and never avoids contact. Has great vision and will fight for the hard yards, or hit the homerun when it presents itself. Inside or Outside.”

The senior captain has garnered attention from a handful of colleges. He’ll be a big part of Billerica’s plans against North Andover on Friday in a rushing offense that has amassed over 1,000 yards in its first three games.

The Player of the Week is selected by the Valley Sports Daily staff. Nominations can be submitted throughout the week up until Saturday night at 8:00 PM. There may be a poll posted on Sunday with the nominations. The results of the poll influence the selection but do not strictly dictate the decision.
