Dracut senior Aubrey Rego has been selected as the Valley Sports Daily Girls Player of the Week for Sept. 22 through Sept. 28. Rego is the fourth student-athlete chosen as Player of the Week for the 2025-26 school year, which is presented on a weekly basis. Moving forward, there will be both a boys and girls Player of the Week winner.
Rego has starred for Dracut on the turf this season, posting six goals and six assists en route to the Middies’ (6-2-1) fast start. Rego played playmaker in Dracut’s big 3-2 win over North Andover last week — dishing two assists — and has been a two-way dynamo for Dracut this season.
“Aubrey Rego is a vital part of our team, bringing not only skill and determination but also a strong sense of leadership and teamwork,” said Dracut head coach Brianna Enger. “Whether it’s through her consistent performance on the field or her ability to motivate others during tough moments, Aubrey sets the standard for what it means to be a committed and reliable teammate. She adapts and plays any position that is needed. Her presence elevates the energy of the entire team, and her work ethic inspires everyone to give their best every game. She deserves the recognition as she continues to impact the field her senior year.”
Dracut holds the No. 1 spot in MVC 2 so far this season and played Andover to a competitive 2-1 loss last week.
The Player of the Week is selected by the Valley Sports Daily staff. Nominations can be submitted throughout the week up until Saturday night at 8:00 PM. There may be a poll posted on Sunday with the nominations. The results of the poll influence the selection but do not strictly dictate the decision.
