Player of the Week: Marcus DeJesus, Andover Football

Andover senior Marcus DeJesus has been selected as the Valley Sports Daily Male Player of the Week, presented by MTM Insurance, for September 13 through September 19.

DeJesus helped lead Andover to a 48-36 victory at Chelmsford last Friday night, as Andover evened its record at 1-1. He racked up an impressive four total touchdowns. DeJesus rushed for scores of 27, 6 and 47 yards, and added a 70-yard kickoff return for a TD. For the game, he rushed for 142 yards.

“He’s a stud,” said Andover head coach Jay Fielding said of DeJesus. “He always has great games against great teams. I love him, and I’ll take him any day of the week over anyone.”

The Player of the Week, presented by MTM Insurance, is selected by the Valley Sports Daily staff. One male and one female student-athlete will be selected as Players of the Week throughout the year. Nominations can be submitted throughout the week up until Saturday night at 8 p.m. There may be a poll posted on Sunday with the nominations. The results of the poll influence the selections but do not strictly dictate the decisions.
