Andover junior Caroline Vaughan has been selected as the Valley Sports Daily Female Player of the Week, presented by MTM Insurance, for September 6 through September 12. Vaughan is the first female student-athlete chosen as Player of the Week for the fall season.
Vaughan put together a huge offensive week to help Andover field hockey pick up a pair of 6-0 wins. The junior forward totaled six goals and two assists across victories over Lowell and Methuen, playing a major role in the Golden Warriors’ attack in both games.
Vaughan erupted for five goals and added an assist in the win over Lowell on September 9, accounting for six points in the shutout victory. She followed that performance with another goal and an assist against Methuen on September 14 as Andover posted its second 6-0 win of the week.
