Westford Academy 11, Chelmsford 9
Catherine Craig (3 goals, 2 assists) and Madelyn Callahan (2 goals, assist) played well for Chelmsford, but the Lions couldn’t catch up to one of the best teams in the state. Also contributing were Ella Fazio (goal, assist), MaryKate McDonald (2 goals) and Anna Bierwirth (goal).

Central Catholic 11, Andover 10
Finn Rourke walked it off for Central Catholic in a rare Saturday clash with Andover. The back-and-forth thriller leaked into extras in the seventh when Andover rallied to a five-run inning to extend the game. Ryan Cardillo’s three-run double was the exclamation point, tying the contest at 10-10. Anthony Polichetti had a huge day at the plate for the Raiders, going 4-for-6 with four RBIs, while Rourke and Aiden Silva each had three hits apiece. Matt Costa and Nick Randazzo logged pivotal innings down the stretch after a nine-strikeout outing from starter Shayne Welch.

Reading 7, Billerica 3
Billerica fell behind early in the weekend matinee and fell to Reading, 7-3. Collecting hits in the loss were Ben Salois, Cam Smith, Jason Weeks, Ryan Fisher and Michael Schein. Billerica’s three runs came in the fifth, where Fisher, Schein and Smith strung together consecutive RBI hits to tie the game at three before Reading pulled away.

Softball
Andover 10, Dracut 1
The Golden Warriors plated six runs in the second inning to jump out to an early lead that it wouldn’t relinquish. Caroline Samaras, Ava Desmaris-Koehn and Claire Thiele all notched two hits apiece in the win. Molly Purtschert was excellent in the circle, striking out nine batters while scattering only three hits in a complete game.
