Player of the Week: Jack Blaschke, Lowell Lacrosse

Jack Blaschke

Lowell sophomore Jack Blaschke has been selected as the Valley Sports Daily Player of the Week for March 30 through April. 5. Blaschke is the first student-athlete chosen as Player of the Week for the spring season.

Blaschke has been a big part of Lowell’s 3-0 boys lacrosse start, scoring 11 goals and adding six assists in a dominant first week on the turf. Blaschke scored four goals against Revere on Tuesday and added four more tallies in the team’s 18-0 thumping of Somerville on Thursday.

“Jack’s strengths are more than just the points you see him putting up in the paper,” said Lowell head coach Jordan Bolarinho. “He’s our most experienced player and comes with a great mind for the game. He’s a three-year starter and he’s only a sophomore so the sky is the limit for a kid of his talent and character.”

Lowell is set to host Tewksbury on Tuesday afternoon in an important MVC clash.

The Player of the Week is selected by the Valley Sports Daily staff. Nominations can be submitted throughout the week up until Saturday night at 8:00 PM. There may be a poll posted on Sunday with the nominations. The results of the poll influence the selection but do not strictly dictate the decision.
